For the second year in a row, we got a great opportunity to document the Wannabe Cancer Free 5k + Fun Run. It's a charitable run that benefits research for a rare form of cancer.
Gerald, the event organizer, has the disease. You wouldn't know it by seeing or hearing from him. He is such an inspiration. He's a loving father, a supportive
husband, an athlete, and super guy. For us, we joined Wannabe Cancer Free because of Gerald. Sure the cause is a good one, but he's the real reason we support his group's efforts.
The day didn't go as we planned. We arrived at the run shortly after 6am to very mild temperatures. Heck, we were wearing shorts. As we were setting up winds started bombarding us. 30 minutes later the temperatures dropped 20 or more degrees.
Regardless of the cold and the rain that followed, we had a great time.
Gerald and Wannabe Cancer Free hosted a wonderful event. We're just glad we were able to capture the day.
